This site needs a pretty forum header... If you can find out the optimum size and specifications you could make a little just-for-fun competition and get the FMs to do some free art work. To start things rolling here's something simple I whipped up... It's 850x140px on a transparent background so it can sit on the existing blue. This is what the logo looks like on its own:

Thank you. I hope it is OK but I have used this one for now and I think a fun competition is a great idea

So lets make it a fun competition in this thread. The size of the small one Celestial Tea Boy is good, but maybe something slightly larger? I am no good on sizes. But definitely on a transparent background because that does look good. Anyway a competition needs a prize. Well I have no cash but will offer a custom title of your choice (so long as its not rude ) For example I have given myself a custom title of Lord President which can be seen under my stars. I think it is only fair that as I am using the example one currently and the fact that he came up with the idea that Celestial Tea Boy should get a custom title of his choice as well. So please post what you would like that title to be and I will add it to your name

how about this? Full-sized DL(it's on a transparent background) ooh, and if I got a custom title it'd have to be Angry Engineer.

Thank you. I hope it is OK but I have used this one for now and I think a fun competition is a great idea I'm flattered! I'm sure you already know this, but to center the logo on the banner on Proboards you go to Admin/Themes/Advanced Styles & CSS/Forum/Header(Top)/Forum Banner/BannerText/TextAlign and set it to "center" - that way any image you sling up there will sit nicely in the centre. The banner is composed of two elements; the background and the logo. The logo is uploaded at Admin/Themes/ThemeManager/Images. The background is uploaded at Admin/Themes/Advanced Styles & CSS/Forum/Header(Top)/Forum Banner/BannerImage. The background is normally huge - the default is something like 1000px by 400px - but it's actually the height of the logo graphic that determines the over all size of the header and how much of the background is seen. You can try this out by loading up the lagrer second diamond logo in my previous post or the 2005 homage in sashabot's post above. The height adjusts to accomodate the logo. People making their own logos might want to plan in a bit empty space above and below their designs to avoid it snapping to its edges. Custom title? That's nice - I'll just go with the same title I have on the shrine forum: "Tea-Time Lord"

Any chance of doing that one on a bigger size pretty please.

I think it is official this is going to remain our header. To be honest I can't imagine the forum without it now.

I fancied having a go at making a forum logo. Personally, I love Celestial Tea Boy's logo, but thought I'd do something with the 2005-style logo - I managed this: Here's links to 'larger' versions [994x300px, Flattened PNG, 210Kb][4878x1472px, Flattened PNG, 3.53Mb][5370x1709px, Fireworks Layered PNG, 13.3Mb]Personally, I think the current one looks better. I have the 2005 DW logo as a Photoshop file, which I can import into Fireworks, but can't seem to shift the black background. I've included the huge, layered fireworks file above in case anyone knows some way to make the background transparent...
